ePolicyWorks is a Web-based approach to policymaking that engages citizens and stakeholders in new and innovative ways. The initiative leverages the latest technology to address barriers to employment for people with disabilities and fosters real-time collaboration and communication around key issues.
On June 27th, ePolicyWorks hosted the #EPWengage: Engaging Citizens for Effective Policymaking Twitter chat featuring special guest Bernetta Reese, Digital Manager at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The chat discussed citizen engagement and its role in effective policymaking.
Government agencies have a responsibility to ensure their social media efforts are accessible to all citizens, including people with disabilities. The ePolicyWorks team presented on social media accessibility best practices as part of the Section 508 Best Practices webinar series.
ePolicyWorks online dialogue events culminate in key input that stakeholders and policymakers can use to develop policy strategies and best practices. For example, the responses from our YouthACT Transition Truths National Online Dialogue will help policymakers and people who work with youth with disabilities to better understand what supports they need to become successful adults.
